Looking for MapleWiki Administrators!
Topic by: Stephen

Hello all,

We're looking for some people to add to our staff. Our current MapleWiki administrator (who has done a wonderful job) is quite busy with studies and therefore, we'd like to look for someone to help out in the MapleWiki. We're looking for people that will be able to dedicate time and energy to help beautify the wiki and make it a great place for people to come and look for information. If you're one of them, feel free to apply via the comment section here.

We'd prefer that you are a longstanding member of the MapleWiki and that you have experience in MediaWiki, but if you do not, we'll gladly train you.

If you're interested, again, please reply in the comments and we'll contact you.

Thanks!

Evan so soon?
Topic by: iamflip

Hey people of the internet. It's me, iamflip!

So, I was checking Twitter when I stumbled upon an interesting tweet from @Maplestory: "Woo...many Maplers definitely have a busy day today so let's bring some good news. Evan is coming soon. bit.ly/aYTLGj bit.ly/aVwm2H" The links leads to two announcements concerning about the release of the dragon-taming mage class, Evan. There's an official teaser site and an announcement on the Nexon forums.

Wow... I certainly was not expect this class to come this early... but I have tried it out on KMS, and it's one really awesome class to play. What are your thoughts on this?

GM hacked?
Topic by: iamflip

Long time, no see everyone. It's me, iamflip.

As well all know, NexonAM has been trying to revamp security against account hacking and malicious acts. Well... it's not going well as according to reports, someone who claims to be "migraine" has hacked a GM account and is rampaging in Scania as we speak. Rumors are flying that people are being banned left and right by him/her/it. He's even showing off GM gear!

This won't bode well with NexonAM upon this news. What do you think about this, and what do you think will happen now? Thoughts?

An easy way to win $10 Nexon Cash
Topic by: Stephen

We're throwing another event just for the fun of it! This time, it won't be so hard though.

So what you have to do is go into the database and find your favorite MapleStory item. Then, post it in in this thread like this:

===============

[b]Blue Snail Shell

[/b]I like this item because it reminds me of when I was new![b]

=============

[/b]You can use any item as long as it's part of MapleStory[b].

[/b]Two people will be randomly chosen to receive a $10 Nexon Cash card. One extra person will be chosen to win based on how funny their post is. So you have three chances to win!

And remember, tell your friends about this. Who knows? You and your group of friends might win all three Nexon cards and get something very nice in game.

Rules:

  • No duplicate entries. You may not enter something someone has already entered
  • You may not enter twice
  • You must enter by the deadline of February 19, 2010 at 11:59 PM Central Standard Time

Enjoy!

Top 10 MapleStory weapons, armor, and accessories of 2009
Topic by: Stephen

The year has come to an end and using our new anonymous statistics monitoring system, we have found the most popular searched items on MapleTip.

This year, we'll be showing you the most viewed items in our database. Some may come to no suprise to you, others are not so much. Nonetheless, we introduce to you the top 10 MapleStory weapons, armor, and accessories of 2009.

MapleStory Weapons

Looks like the GM's weapon of choice is fairly popular along with several Maple Weapons. The thief's low leveled Meba follows in at position 4.
  1. Wizet Secret Agent Suitcase
  2. Maple Kandayo
  3. Red Whip
  4. Meba
  5. Korean Fan
  6. Shinobi Bracer
  7. Maple Claw
  8. Maple Skanda
  9. Maple Sword
  10. Maple Staff

MapleStory Armor

Looks like
the GM's armors of choice are in the top 10 again with the hat coming in first. Most of the armor found here are classless meaning they can be worn by any class and buffed by several scrolls found across MapleStory to add power to their own class.
  1. Wizet Invincible Hat
  2. Newspaper Hat
  3. Toymaker Cap
  4. Maple Shield
  5. Dark Pilfer
  6. Icarus Cape (1)
  7. Wizet Plain Suit
  8. Blue Sauna Robe
  9. Old Raggedy Cape
  10. Zakum Helmet
MapleStory Accessories

Finally, we're looking at the accessories. Seems like the most popular item is the weight earrings, which is all but too common around MapleStory. Not suprisingly, the horntail's necklace comes in third and it's fairly powerful if you think about it. (But fairly high leveled to wear).

  1. Weighted Earrings
  2. Silver Deputy Star
  3. Horntail Necklace
  4. Leaf Earrings
  5. Strawberry Icecream Bar
  6. Skull Earrings
  7. Sword Earrings
  8. White Raccoon Mask
  9. Spiegelmann's Necklace
  10. Red Cross Earrings

Unfortunately, we don't have any information about the other databases as we haven't implemented anonymous statistics in them yet. We hope to gather anonymous statistics to better inform our visitors about how to play MapleStory most effectively and have the most fun in the game. As we move forth with the website, we'll be implementing more exciting features that will help everybody.

Note that the anonymous statistics contain no personally identifying information, not even your IP address.

We hope you have had a wonderful 2009 and will have a great 2010. The new year brings forth another round of fun and excitement and we hope you'll be with us this year!

MapleStory did a 15 minute long cash shop server check earlier tonight and looks like they brought in some clown clothes as well as a suprise.

The clown clothes includes:

Anyone know what the surprise is? Post it in the comments!

Update: Thanks to Manooz turns out it's just a suprise box where you randomly get something. Costs 500 NX for one.

You can find that item here

Topic by: Stephen

We're happy to announce that MapleTip's database is now up to date with version 0.80 of MapleGlobal. If you find any bugs with the website, please send us an email and we'll fix them quickly.

Thanks for your help everyone!

Featured Video of the [Time Period]
Topic by: Void

NOTE: BBCode fail on the front page.

I was too zetta slow on this one, but everyone else probably was.

So if you haven't noticed already, dray86 released the latest installment to the Maple Kombat series recently. See below.

If you have never heard of the series... well, it sure isn't my problem.

Because I have nothing else to say, here are some other random videos:

Atlantica Online Titan 34 PM session (SarahPhoenix VS. Runkis)
Why: Because I play Atlantica, I wasn't around for that Titan, and - holy love did Sarah always have those wings?@@@@2
Team Fortress 2: The 12 Days of Christmas
Why: Because I play TF2, it's almost Christmas, and you're clearly missing out if you don't understand the song.
Team Fortress 2: It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Dustbowl (Machinima)
Why: See above.

SHAMELESS ADVERTISING BWAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA.

MapleStory seems stable now
Topic by: Stephen

So after these past few weeks of server checks and lag, it seems that MapleGlobal is now stable.

To make up for it, there will be random GM skill buffs throughout MapleGlobal starting from today until January 6, 2009.

These buffs last for 90 minutes. If you'd like to see what kind of buffs you might get, check out our GM Skills page. (Note, you won't be getting Hide, Resurrect, or Teleport for obvious reasons)

Keeping you updated
Topic by: Stephen

Since MapleGlobal's own official website does not contain an RSS feed, we decided to hack together one that will allow you up to date information straight from MapleStory's website.

We currently support MapleGlobal and MapleSEA and it basically imports the news into our forums.

If you'd like to subscribe to our RSS feed for MapleGlobal or MapleSEA's official news, feel free to subscribe to the following links:

MapleGlobal:
http://forums.mapletip.com/index.php?/rss/forums/2-mapleglobal-news/

MapleSEA:
http://forums.mapletip.com/index.php?/rss/forums/3-maplesea-news/

We hope you enjoy this new feature! As always, this information can be found by typing mapletip.com into your favorite RSS reader.

Enjoy!
